Death Announce Toronto Show, Reveal New 7-inch

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 31, 2014

Death to Toronto! Don't worry, that isn't a threat — we're talking about the legendary Detroit proto-punk band Death, who have added Toronto to their rather scattered tour schedule in 2014.

Death's itinerary currently has them playing four shows in four separate countries. In addition to gigs in France, Mexico and the U.S., the surviving members of the band will perform at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre on March 21. See the schedule below.

This show will follow the band's new archival single, "North St." This 1980 cut comes backed with the 1992 tune "We're Gonna Make It." The 7-inch will be out through Drag City on February 18. It can be pre-ordered here.

As fans probably already know, Death were primarily active in the '70s, but languished in obscurity until the 2009 release of the lost-long ...For the Whole World to See. The moving documentary A Band Called Death followed in 2012.

Tour dates:

01/31 Fontenay-Sous-Bois, France - Salle Jacques Brel (Festival Sons d'hiver)
03/08 Monterrey, Mexico - Festival Nrmal

03/21 Toronto, ON - Phoenix Concert Theatre

03/22 Santa Ana, CA - The Observatory (Burgerama III)
