Tokyo Police Club frontman Dave Monks has announced another solo foray, a raw and unedited companion record to 2019's On a Wave. On June 24, On a Wave Goes Wild will arrive via Dine Alone Records.
Recorded in Port William Sound recording studio back in February, Goes Wild isn't quite an acoustic record — it still has electric guitars — but the five-track EP has certainly taken a change in pace from its predecessor.
"It's the most raw and unedited thing I've ever put out," Monks said in a statement. "Is it an acoustic EP? To me, it's more of 'Live from the studio' — the way we would perform if we were 'on air' at a radio station."
Goes Wild is Monks's latest record following last year's On a Wave, which arrived in October.
The artist has yet to release any tracks from the effort, but Dine Alone has offered up a teaser with a new video.
