Danzig Takes Superjoint, Prong on "Blackest of the Black" Tour

Now that Danzig has wrapped up a dirty black summer's worth of tour dates with Pennywise and Cancer Bats, the metal lord has unveiled plans for his next "Blackest of the Black" tour. Five years on from the last edition, the package tour lifts off again this November.

Danzig revealed the fall travel plans today (August 18) over Facebook, confirming that he'll be headlining the North American trip. Joining him will be a number of veteran metal acts including Phil Anselmo's newly resuscitated Superjoint, Prong, Veil of Maya and Witch Mountain.

As you'll see down below, the show schedule primarily sticks beneath the U.S./Canada border, but the bands will head up into Canada for a performance at Montreal's Metropolis on October 18.

The tour concludes, fittingly, on Halloween in Los Angeles. Perhaps Danzig will don a Devilock and drop a Misfits tune or two.

Danzig has taken the "Blackest of the Black" tour on the road a number of times since starting the package event in 2003. The last round had taken place in 2010.

Despite all these travel plans, there are still no official plans to release his covers LP, now titled Skeletons, his EP of Elvis covers or a previously teased LP of original material. Rumour has it, though, that any of these could land later this year.
