On the heels of last month's "Broke My Heart" and April's "Honey," Caribou's Dan Snaith is back with "Volume," a new single built around M|A|R|R|S's 1987 hit "Pump Up the Volume."

In a statement about the new single, Snaith said:

"Pump Up the Volume" was the first time in my life I heard electronic music — sitting in front of the family stereo system listening to the top 40 countdown on the radio when I was a kid. It completely blew my mind — it sounded like something from another world. It's stuck with me ever since — I always wanted to rework it in some way. I didn't consciously think about it when I started working on my track but I think there's something really special about having gone right back to the very beginning in making this.

The song comes attached to a video from Shynola's Richard Kenworthy, and it features vintage footage of some very stylish club-goers.

Following the release of "Broke My Heart" back in June, Snaith shared two remixes earlier this month — "Broke My Heart (Champion Remix)," which featured in the Charli XCX PARTYGIRL Ibiza Boiler Room set, and "Broke My Heart (Harry Hayes Remix)."
