Coliseum

"Detached" (video)

While the 10th anniversary edition of Coliseum's self-titled LP is still a couple weeks off from hitting stores, one lucky skate rat managed to find himself a vinyl copy extra early. Funnily enough, the street date-breaking situation has been chronicled in a video for the album's "Detached."

Scored by Coliseum's early days, midnight oil-burning blazer, the clip has the kid wandering into his record store and shoplifting the album in broad daylight. As he blasts down the pavement, the guy manages to up his fortunes by finding both a loose speaker and a record player just lying on the streets. It all caps with him setting up a stereo rig to listen to his bounty. It all begs the question, though, what was he going to do with the vinyl record if he didn't find all that audio gear?

The new Coliseum pressing adds eight additional tracks to its runtime, and drops August 19 through Deathwish Inc. That same day, the band plays Toronto's Silver Dollar. They play Hamilton the night before. Tour dates:

08/16 Chicago, IL - Beat Kitchen
08/17 Grand Rapids, MI - Pyramid Scheme
08/18 Hamilton, ON - Doors Pub
08/19 Toronto, ON - Silver Dollar ^
08/20 Detroit, MI - PJ's Lager House
