Cold Specks, a.k.a. Al Spx, has returned with her first new song since 2017's Fool's Paradise. "How It Feels" also marks her return following a difficult period in her life, during which she sought medical help for mental health issues.

Teaming up to write the song with Chantal Kreviazuk, it was recorded by Graham Walsh of Holy Fuck, and features Johnny Spence on piano, Owen Pallett on strings, and Terry Edwards on brass.

"'How It Feels' was written in 2019 at a time when I was struggling with money," the singer-songwriter shared in a release. "I was struggling with my mind as well, and I was reflecting on my experiences. It was written one magical night in the dead of winter in a studio around midnight. It came together quite easily and Chantal is a gem."
