Blanck Mass Curates Neo-Giallo Soundtrack for Death Waltz

Fuck Buttons member Benjamin John Power's Blanck Mass project has been tapped by cinema music mecca Death Waltz Recording Company to curate an exclusive, brand new score to 2013 film The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears. It will be premiered in a UK movie house next month before arriving on vinyl on July 24.

The program guide to London's East End Film Festival [via The Wire], confirms that Power was contacted to put together an all-new soundtrack to the "neo-giallo" movie, which will be premiered during a screening on July 10.

Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani's film had initially plucked its score from existing giallo soundtracks, but Power reached out to a number of musicians from around the world to contribute new, mood-setting pieces. Scenes throughout the film will now feature music from Blanck Mass, Helm, Moon Gangs, Konx-Om-Pax, Roll the Dice and C Spencer Yeh.

A tracklisting has not yet been revealed, but the new score to The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears is said to be "a fascinating record that enthralls, seduces and terrifies in equal measure." Death Waltz will deliver the set as a double LP in a gatefold sleeve. Colour variants are expected, but have yet to be announced.

You'll find a trailer for the film down below.

Blanck Mass issued debut LP Dumb Flesh last month through Sacred Bones.
