While Black Sabbath are ready to wrap a lengthy career, odds are good we'll be seeing plenty of unholy re-releases in the coming years. Coming up this fall, for instance, are both a deluxe edition of sophomore classic Paranoid and yet another best-of compilation.
While existing Sabbath hits packages are innumerable, the heavy gloom icons are also set to issue what could presumably be their last-ever compendium. Titled The Ultimate Collection, it lands on CD and digitally October 28 via BMG, with a vinyl box set to follow on November 18.
The set comes as the band is traveling on their "The End" world tour, billed as "the final tour by the greatest metal band of all time." As such, the 31-track Ultimate Collection packs in a lot iconic metal numbers. Chances are, though, between the various album releases, reissues, and numerous grab-bag collections, many fans will own a bunch of these tracks already.
Regardless, it features tried-and-true, horns-raising cuts like "Paranoid," "Iron Man," "Sweet Leaf," "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath," and more.
As if that weren't enough, Black Sabbath's Paranoid: Super Deluxe Edition is out November 11. The four-CD collection includes a 2012 remaster of the 1970 album, a 1974 quad mix of the album in stereo, and also features two full concerts record back in the day in Montreux and Brussels. The box set release also includes a hardbound book featuring exclusive photos from the era, and a replica of the tour book sold during the "Paranoid" tour. You'll find out more info over here.
