Underground rapper billy woods is absolutely red hot right now, having released two excellent albums in 2022, followed by album-of-the-year contender Maps in 2023. Never pausing for a minute, the artist has revealed that he and collaborator ELUCID have an Armand Hammer album on the way — and it might be even better than Maps.
Appearing on KEXP for a performance and interview, woods promised that an Armand Hammer album was almost complete, and that ELUCID still has "a little bit of work" left to do on it. He promised that it's "a pretty different direction" for the duo.
The rapper's Maps collaborator, producer Kenny Segal, chimed in to add, "Let me just say — it's about to knock Maps off the album-of-the-year list. It's really, really good. And I'm not even talking about my track. I'm talking about the whole album; [it] is ridiculous."
Armand Hammer's most recent album was 2021's Haram.
