Billie Eilish Doesn't Want to Cast "Excited" Concert Throwers as the Bad Guy, but "It Can Be Dangerous"

"I have mixed feelings about it, because when you're up there it blows. But you know it's out of love and they're just trying to give you something."

Since it's all anyone can talk about anymore, Billie Eilish and her brother, fellow pop mastermind FINNEAS, were asked to weigh in on the incessant trend of people chucking miscellanea at performers on stage.

The siblings walked the red carpet on Sunday (July 9) for the Los Angeles premiere of Barbie, to which they contributed soundtrack cut "What Was I Made For?" — which has now been previewed in a brand new teaser for the Greta Gerwig film, in theatres July 21.

"I've been getting hit on stage with things for like, literally, six years, I don't know why this is, like, new," Eilish pointed out to The Hollywood Reporter. "People just get excited and it can be dangerous."

"It's absolutely infuriating when you're up there," the pop star continued, explaining that it's mostly mobile phones being yeeted in an effort to get a selfie in her experience — unlike in Bebe Rexha's recent case, when a man thought hitting her in the face would be funny.

Eilish said, "I have mixed feelings about it, because when you're up there it blows. But you know it's out of love and they're just trying to give you something. You're in a vulnerable position, but I've been getting hit with stuff for like, years."

Her brother added that often people aren't trying to make a direct hit and hurt the artist with the odds and ends they're throwing onto the stage, but adrenaline is pumping and we don't all possess impeccable aim.

"Don't do it — we get it, but don't do it," FINNEAS said, starting directly into the camera. "Don't throw things on stage, but we love you; it's very sweet," Eilish echoed.

Watch the interview clip below, and write "I will not throw things on stage, even if it's Morgan Wallen" on the chalkboard 100 times if you need to.
