It's now been a decade since Australian sound collage masters the Avalanches dropped their landmark debut, Since I Left You, but that hasn't curbed the voraciousness of fans eagerly awaiting a second LP. After years of promises, the band have hinted once more that the album is nearly complete, and that pop eccentric Ariel Pink is contributing vocals.
As Pitchfork reports, an administrator on the Avalanches message board posted the following: "i hear ariel pink is recording some guest vocals for it and once those are done, the album will be finished (!)."
Considering the eagerness with which many are awaiting a second Avalanches album and the acclaim that Pink's new LP, Before Today, is being met with, we won't be surprised if a few of you just did backflips.
No word yet on a release date for that Avalanches album, obviously.
