Just shy of a week removed from delivering his Strange Prison LP, Astral Swans (a.k.a. Matthew Swann) has now shared a video for the album's title track.
The Mitch Nybo-directed clip pairs Swann's mental health-minded lyrics with visuals that provide "an absurdist representation of paranoia, obsessive and intrusive thinking, depression, humiliation, and trauma," as Swann explained in a statement.
Nybo had previously provided visuals for the album's "What Are You Gonna Do With Yourself."
"It's intentionally troubling, while merging the distressing visions with a mundane affect," Swann said of the clip. "Mitch did an astonishing job of beautifully capturing these two dichotomous moods. I get by with a little help from my friends."
Swann is currently touring Strange Prison in Japan until early June, and will return to Canada for a pair of performances in British Columbia that same month. You can find his complete itinerary below.
Strange Prison is out now through Saved By Vinyl/Moorworks/Tiny Room Records/Major Tom Records.
