Dethroned JUNO sweepers Arkells haven't been discouraged by their loss to our cover stars, the Beaches, sharing their entry for the song of the summer with "Big Feelings" today.
"In the studio, this track was a burst of energy and felt like it came together quickly," frontman Max Kerman said via press release. "Immediately, we understood it would be unruly, and that the spirit of the song was more about the collective unvarnished expression than any conventional 'songwriting rules.'"
The track comes ahead of their massive Canadian tour, and will see its live debut at the band's double-header at Toronto's Budweiser Stage later this month. It also arrives off the heels of their cover album Disco Loadout.
On the "song of the summer" front, the band must not have gotten the memo that it's an "Espresso" girl summer, but that's ok. Watch the music video for "Big Feelings" below.
