The fifteenth anniversary of emo outfit American Football's self-titled LP yielded a deluxe reissue and a few live dates this year. If you didn't manage to make it out to any of the reunited indie romantics' gigs, the band are showing you what you missed out on with a live video for their "Never Meant."
The video uses footage from a weekend's worth of performances at New York's Webster Hall last October, where the intricately picked track served as the encore. Mike Kinsella delivers his love-life analyzing lines quite well, but is almost overpowered by the full audience's accompanying croon. Helping beef up the lush six-stringing mid-track is the sanguine jingle of a pair of tambourine players.
