A Place to Bury Strangers Announce New Album 'Synthesizer'

A Place to Bury Strangers have announced their seventh studio album Synthesizer, arriving October 4 via Dedstrange.

The record aptly finds the band performing on a synthesizer created specifically for the release, with its vinyl album cover itself doubling as a circuit board/synth that fans can play.

"It's pretty messed up, chaotic. But it feels really human," said frontman Oliver Ackermann.

They've previewed the effort today with lead single "Disgust," which arrives alongside a video by Ben Hozie and Joe Wakeman.

"'Disgust' is a song I wrote that was inspired by the way I used to perform 'Got That Feeling,' a song by my old band Skywave," Ackermann explained. "There was a long riding open note on the bass that enabled me to play the whole part with my fist in the air. I wrote this song just on open strings so it could be played with just one hand: dumb and fun."
