Founded in 2013, Edmonton's Purple City Music Festival (formerly Up + Downtown) is a forward-thinking festival for the future — and the future is now: after painting the town purple with a limited-capacity, entirely-Edmontonian edition last year, it's back in full force for summer 2022,

Taking place August 26 to 28 at the Heritage Amphitheater in Hawrelak Park and across multiple venues city-wide, the three-day fest will shine a light on the best new sounds from the global underground.

Led by headlining dance punks !!! and rockabilly revivalists Shannon and the Clams, Edmonton will host a total of 80-plus artists for the event, with Basement Revolver, Dilly DallyMas AyaA Place to Bury Strangers, the Garrys, ACTORS, Death Valley Girls, Sister Ray, Priyanka, Papercuts, Pearl Charles and more also on the lineup.

Purple City wristbands and day passes are on sale now via the festival's website, with individual tickets available starting Friday, April 29 at 12 p.m. MT.
