Someone must've been perusing Exclaim!'s Best TV Shows of 2022, because Season 2 isn't even here yet and Showtime has already given the go-ahead for Season 3 of our No. 4 contender, Yellowjackets.

That's right — ahead of the second chapter's premiere on March 24, we're already in for more mystery, murder and mayhem set in the depths of the Canadian wilderness. So far, there's yet to be an announcement as to when the third season will air, let alone begin filming, so please be patient; the '90s aren't going anywhere.

Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime and Paramount Media Networks, said of the series in a statement:

With Yellowjackets' runaway success in season one and the pent-up anticipation for season two, we wanted to maximize the momentum by fast tracking season three now. The show's ambition is only exceeded by its execution, and I thank the incredible creative team behind it, including Ashley, Bart, Jonathan, eOne and the SHOWTIME team, for turning this into such a success.

Season 1 starred Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress and Christina Ricci, as well as their younger counterparts Sophie Nélisse, Sophie Thatcher, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sammi Hanratty.

Season 2 is due to add two more surviving players into adulthood, with Lauren Ambrose debuting as grown-up Van (Liv Hewson) and Simone Kessell as Lottie (Courtney Eaton), as well as Elijah Wood, who's playing Walter, "a dedicated Citizen Detective who will challenge Misty (Ricci) in ways she won't see coming."

Canadian viewers can tune in to watch the mystery unravel on Crave. Until then, revisit the Season 2 teaser below.
