The first trailer for Moonage Daydream — a new Brett Morgen-directed film about David Bowie that's being described as neither biopic nor documentary — has arrived prior to the film's premiere at Cannes tonight (May 23).
The trailer features a bunch of lovely, saturated footage of Bowie both on and off stage, and is accompanied by voiceover, some intense music and Bowie saying "life is fantastic."
The film was approved by Bowie's estate, and includes unreleased 35mm and 16mm footage from his personal archives. Brett Morgen wrote, directed and produced Moonage Daydream. He's also behind 2015's Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.
