At long last, we have a premiere date for the third season of HBO's True Detective. Today HBO confirmed the Mahershala Ali-starring series will return on January 13 and consist of eight episodes.
As previously reported, Ali plays Arkansas detective Wayne Hays, who dives into a haunting crime case in the Ozarks. In addition to Ali, the third season stars Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff.
All episodes will be written by creator and showrunner Nic Pizzolatto and be directed by Daniel Sackheim, who took over for Green Room filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier.
