Donald Glover's Childish Gambino has reemerged in the music world with his guest spot on the Swarm EP, out now via RCA. He also has producer credits on the six-track effort, which is from the Prime Video television series of the same name.
The series features Billie Eilish in her acting debut, and stars KIRBY as fictional pop star Nijah. As a combination of herself and her character, KIRBY makes the first five songs on the EP, which range from the disco-infused "Big World" to confident hip-hop on "Agatha." Childish Gambino brings his falsetto vocals and earworm melodies to the final track of the EP "Sticky" in his long-awaited return to music.
Glover confirmed in an interview on the Golden Globes red carpet in January that he's still making music, which means that more Childish Gambino could be on the way soon.
The artist responsible for Because the Internet and Awaken, My Love! hasn't dropped his own music since the spontaneous release of 2020 album 3.15.20, but his most recent feature came on bLAck pARty's August single "I Love You More Than You Know."
