'WKRP in Cincinnati' Star Frank Bonner Dies at 79
Frank Bonner — the actor famously known for playing Herb Tarlek on the classic TV sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati — has died. News broke today via TMZ that Bonner passed away on Wednesday (June 16) due to complications from Lewy body dementia.

According to his family, Bonner passed away peacefully. He was 79.

Without question, Bonner is best known for his iconic role in WKRP in Cincinnati, in which he played radio station sales manager Herb Tarlek. The character was known for his plaid-loving fashion sense and sleazy wise cracks, with Bonner starring in the role during the show's initial run of 1978 to 1982. He would later reprise the role a decade later for The New WKRP in Cincinnati, which ran from 1991 to 1993.

Beyond WKRP in Cincinnati, Bonner acted in a long list of TV shows, including The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Gimme a Break!, Newhart and Night Court, among others.

Bonner was also known as a director, taking the reins not only on WKRP in Cincinnati but also Family Ties, Who's the Boss and Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
