Yukon Blonde

"I Wanna Be Your Man" (video)

Vancouver pop crew Yukon Blonde recently released their On Blonde LP via Dine Alone. Now, they've treated album single "I Wanna Be Your Man" to a new video.

The clip was directed by Mac Boucher (who recently handled his sister Grimes' "Flesh Without Blood / Life in the Vivid Dream" video), and in fitting with its masculine title it plays with gender roles.

"'IWBYM' playfully makes fun of the male gaze and traditionalism," Boucher said of the clip. "Satanic symbolism and the de-robing of religious uniform denounces the role of some patriarchal figurehead. The chopping of wood and digging of holes represents violent penetration compared to the rhythmic movements in the peach orchard... it's supposed to be a video that looks beautiful, is edited with humour, and makes absolutely zero sense to the passive observer."

Get confused as hell with the new video below.
