When You Say Party released their self-titled album earlier this year, it heard the band embracing a new approach for their first album after a five-year break. Now, they're back in the swing of things and rolling out visual accompaniments for each of the tracks on the latest LP. Following the colourful clip for "Ignorance," Exclaim! is premiering the video for "Sweet Divine."
The video sees the band once again working with director Jeff Scheven, though this time around there's a distinct lack of vibrant hues. The black-and-white video presents a sequence of images and footage that is dark and disturbing, but beautiful nonetheless.
Religious imagery and scenes of natural phenomena get blended together with shots of a cloaked figure singing along to the brooding track. "Using shot and archival footage, the video explores the multi-dimentional sides of spirituality versus religion and light versus darkness," Scheven tells Exclaim!
