Indie rock legends Yo La Tengo have announced a new album, This Stupid World, due out February 10 through Matador Records.
A press release notes that the album is self-produced and self-mixed, with Yo La Tengo offering up their most live-sounding work in years. Most of the songs are built on the foundation of the three musicians performing together in-studio. That being said, a press release describes it as a headphone record full of sonic details.
Get a taste of this via the song "Fallout," which has been given a lyric video. See that below, and This Stupid World's tracklist below that. Yo La Tengo have announced a 2023 tour of the US and Europe, but no Canadian dates; their schedule can be found on their website.
This Stupid World pre-orders are available here. It's the follow-up to Yo La Tengo's lockdown-era ambient album We Have Amnesia Sometimes.
This Stupid World:
1. Sinatra Drive Breakdown
2. Fallout
3. Tonight's Episode
4. Aselestine
5. Until It Happens
6. Apology Letter
7. Brain Capers
8. This Stupid World
9. Miles Away
