Dads, lace up your New Balances: Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline have joined forces with Grateful Dead's Phil Lesh to form a new supergroup they're dubbing Philco for the inaugural edition of Bridgeview, IL's Sacred Rose Festival.

Joined by Dead-circuit regulars Jeff Chimenti (Dead & Company), Stu Allen, Grahame Lesh and John Molo (Phil Lesh & Friends), as well as Karl Denson (Rolling Stones) and Elliott Peck (Midnight North), the project will make its debut at Chicagoland's Seatgeek Stadium over the August 26 to 28 weekend.

Tweedy, a noted Deadhead, said of the ensemble in a statement:

Nels and I are honoured to be asked to join Phil and Friends for Sacred Rose. There has been so much about Phil and the Dead to be inspired by over the years, from their longtime musical brotherhood to their wonderful and incomparable music, to their relentless touring and longevity. But perhaps the biggest inspiration is their dedication to the community that has grown up around them. This is a trait that we in Wilco deeply appreciate and have aimed to emulate over the years. There's nothing better than playing music with your friends, for your friends.

Sacred Rose will also host the likes of Khruangbin, Kamasi Washington, Animal Collective, City and Colour, the War on Drugs, Black Pumas, Umphrey's McGee, STS9, Disco Biscuits and loads more. See the lineup here and in the video below.
