Amyl and the Sniffers recently concluded their tour of North America, where they hit up a trio of Canadian cities, including a stop at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre earlier this month. While they were in town, it looks like they were able to carve out some time to talk shop with Nardwuar the Human Serviette at Neptoon Records.
Hanging out with Amy Taylor, Declan Mehrtens, Kevin Romer, Calum Newton, Bryce Wilson and the folks at Neptoon, Nardwuar gifted the band with various records, including Boss's "I Don't Give a Fuck," KMD's Mr. Hood, the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, Miss Piggy's aerobics record, plus a copy of the Ugly Things fanzine, an Ice Cube doll and a bunch more.
During the interview, Nardwuar quizzed the band on Australian youth club the Yak, hard rock Aussie band the Coloured Balls, the time when AC/DC fans were goaded into fighting Deep Purple's roadies, Iggy Azalea's mom being Taylor's soccer coach, Taylor's time working in the nuts section of a bulk store, cleaning bugs out of food containers, and the general punk hijinks of the band.
To bring just a little more Canadiana into the mix, Nardwuar bestows a glow-in-the-dark edition of the Pack A.D.'s 2011 album Unpersons upon band affiliate Ari Samson toward the end of the interview.
