Last night, Garbage played a headlining show at Berlin's Uber Eats Music Hall (lmao, lol) and invited the legendary Peaches to join them onstage for a mashup of "Push It" and "Fuck the Pain Away."
Peaches (a.k.a. Merrill Nisker) currently lives in Berlin, so it makes plenty of sense that Shirley Manson and co. would bring her up. "She's somebody very, very special," Manson said while introducing Peaches. "Doing everything on her own terms and ripping up all the rules of the fucking nonsense that preceded her appearance on the music scene."
The band then launched into "Push It," and Peaches appeared midway through the song. When Peaches came out, they switched quickly into "Fuck the Pain Away" before mashing the two together.
This isn't actually the first time that Garbage and Peaches have pulled this party trick — during the 2005 mashup-themed NYC festival Amsterjam, they performed the same combo.
