Toronto's Emily Steinwall — multi-instrumentalist and Exclaim! Class of 2020 grad — has shared the title track from her debut album Welcome to the Garden, which is set for independent release on March 28.
Backed by Joseph Martel on guitar, Yunjin Claire Lee on piano and synth, David Maclean on bass and Eric West on drums, Steinwall is offering up her signature swirling saxophone, in addition to her own vocals and flute playing on "Welcome to the Garden."
According to Steinwall, the song "takes you on a 10-minute journey through [her] musical universe, and is inspired by Mother Nature."
Steinwall's album — recorded at Union Sound Company, and mixed and mastered by Benjamin Tierney — will be released digitally through Bandcamp and on vinyl next month.
