Earlier this month, Tori Amos announced plans for a holiday EP titled Christmastide. Now, she has shared the first of four songs from the record, "Better Angels."
Arriving alongside an animated lyric video, the song is the first entry in a collection of yuletide tracks Amos recorded in an effort "to try and lift people's spirits."
"With 'Better Angels' I wanted to acknowledge the year we have all been through and know that there is hope," Amos said in a statement. "We can find that hope within ourselves if we continue to focus our collective minds and souls. We are slowly starting to find a clearer path to transform together for the better of all."
The four-track EP is set to arrive on December 4 through Decca Records. Joined by drummer Matt Chamberlain and bassist Jon Evans for the EP, Amos will release the new record on 12-inch vinyl with cover art by Rantz Hosely.
Her latest album was 2017's Native Invader. Earlier this year, Amos released her memoir, Resistance: A Songwriter's Story of Hope, Change and Courage.
