Wealthy fans of the Fibonacci sequence rejoice: Tool have announced a seriously exclusive, seriously pricey ultra-deluxe vinyl pressing of 2019's Fear Inoculum.
If you have a cool $810 USD burning a hole in your pocket that you're hankering to spend on a vinyl copy of one (1) album, then you're in luck!
Yesterday (February 20), the band posted an announcement in the form of an unboxing video. Following 2019's "Expanded Book Edition" of the album, there's now a five-disc 180-gram vinyl pressing available, with music on one side and etched art on the other.
The autographed ultra-deluxe boxsets will only be available to Tool Army members who purchased VIP tickets to the upcoming dates on their 2022, which is skipping Canada entirely. That means we're completely out of the running unless we cross the border, so you can go ahead and add travel expenses to the cost of the fan club membership, VIP tickets and the vinyl itself.
Naturally, fans of the band are a little upset by the exclusivity of the merch item, with pleas in the comments section for a "non-silly variant" and people pointing out that they could probably make way more money selling a standard vinyl pressing of Fear Inoculum to people "who actually listen to their records."
Other commenters said they couldn't wait to see these collector's items listed "for $5K on eBay."

Tool are among the acts using COVID-19 sniffing dogs on tour during the pandemic. You can watch their final rehearsal prior to hitting the road, with the band having commenced their North American trek last month.
