Zimbabwean-born, Los Angeles-based Australian rapper Tkay Maidza has announced her highly anticipated sophomore LP, previewed by new single "Ring-a-Ling."
Sweet Justice arrives November 3 on 4AD. It's the follow-up to the artist's 2016 self-titled debut, as well her Last Year Was Weird EP trilogy, and includes recent Flume-produced single "Silent Assassin." Canadians Kaytranada and Stint also contributed to production on the album, which sees further features from Lolo Zouaï, Amber Mark and Duckwrth.
"Sweet Justice was a way for me to channel my emotions from what I've experienced in the last two years," Maidza explained in a statement. "It's a diary of things and thoughts I've kept to myself. Making the record was a healing experience and I'm grateful to have worked with producers who have inspired me throughout my career."
Of the warbling, defiant new single produced by Two Fresh, she added, "I wanted to make an empowering song that tells others that my biggest focus are my goals." It became something of a mantra for Sweet Justice.
