Former Hey Rosetta! bandleader Tim Baker has announced plans for his follow-up to 2019's Forever Overhead. The singer-songwriter will deliver sophomore album The Festival on October 7 through Donovan Woods's label, End Times Music.
"Writing The Festival saved my life," Baker said of the pandemic-penned record in a statement. "I could immerse myself in a different world. It gave me a reason to go on, something to hold onto."
Today, the album is previewed by "Year of the Dog," which is about "living through, and actually being thankful for, difficulty and pain, for how they make you grow and appreciate beauty you couldn't otherwise."
Baker has also announced a string of new North American tour dates, adding to previously announced summer performances. This November and December, you'll be able to catch him in Ontario at the London Music Hall, Toronto's Massey Hall and Ottawa's Bronson Centre ahead of a show in Montreal at Le Studie TD. Those shows follow scheduled festival appearances in Calgary, Sydney, Saint John and Hamilton this summer.
UPDATE (7/26, 11:53 a.m. ET): Baker has added two new dates — Vancouver on November 18 and Edmonton on November 22 — to his North American tour.
