Former Hey Rosetta! leader Tim Baker is back with a new solo single. The video for "Lucky Few" is out now, and Baker has announced some live dates for the coming months.
The Newfoundland musician said in a statement about the single, "This is a song that grew directly from these years of social isolation. It's about missing people, and missing the power of connection, shared emotion and music. The rhythm section and I performed it live off the floor (the second floor of the Fogo Island Inn to be exact — an incredible piano they have there, among a lot of other incredibles), and I later added violins and a little choir of friends at home."
The accompanying video, directed by Baker along with Jamie Miller, is a single-shot performance clip of Baker and his band.
There's currently no word about a new full-length, but a press release calls this "the debut single and video," so presumably this is part of some sort of a larger project. This is Baker's first new material since 2019's Forever Overhead and its various singles and EPs.
See the "Lucky Few" video below, and see Baker's tour schedule below that. He's currently got four Canadian dates booked for 2022.
