The Lumineers Announce 'III' LP, Share New Single "Gloria"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 5, 2019

Folk-pop superstars the Lumineers have revealed plans for a new album called III, and they've unveiled the first single "Gloria."

Appropriately enough, the LP marks the band's third studio effort, and it will arrive on September 13 via Dualtone.

Frontman Wesley Schultz and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites wrote the record, which tells a series of stories about a fictional family called the Sparks.

The first single is titled "Gloria," and Schultz describes it as a song "about love between an addict and her family."

III marks the first record that features violinist/vocalist Lauren Jacobsen as an official member of the band, though she played on the previous two records. She joins Stelth Ulvang, Byron Isaacs and Brandon Miller as part of the touring group.

Cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek, meanwhile, left the band following 2016's Cleopatra to embark on a solo career.
