We are so back. The holiday may have been last week, but with a double helping of the week's best new Canadian music, today is definitely a good Friday.
The Halluci Nation and Softcult have huge new singles, while our first taste of the fruits of 8485's studio time with Danny Brown is here in the form of the ecstatically bratty hyperpop ditty "G.I.R.L."
This week in album releases, we have the beautifully tender sophomore album from Bells Larsen (Blurring Time), as well as Màiri Morrison and Alasdair Roberts returning for their second collaborative album in 13 years. Further full-length efforts come from Shub and Matt Andersen, as well as a star-studded Neil Young tribute album that includes a gorgeous rendition of "Heart of Gold" by none other than Fiona Apple.
Elsewhere, you can find new music from Aiko Tomi, Penny & the Pits, Cassia Hardy, Foxwarren, BBQ Pope, Cancer Bats, Holy Fuck offshoot Cut Cult and more. There's even another megawatt tribute LP dedicated to Broken Social Scene on the way, led by Maggie Rogers and Sylvan Esso's transcendent take on "Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl."
Find even more goodies than usual with this XL edition of The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken — all Canadian and proud of it!
