Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, many artists have been forced to postpone their album release plans. But there's still plenty of new music coming out, and some from unexpected places. For example, the Dalai Lama will release a new album this fall.

Yes, the foremost spiritual leader of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism has announced plans to drop 11 tracks on our asses via a new release called Inner World.

In a press release, he said, "Music has the potential to reach many more people with the message that the real source of happiness is warm-heartedness and a concern for others."

"The very purpose of my life is to serve as much as I can," he continued. "Music can help people in a way that I can't."

Inner World will arrive on July 6, which also happens to be the Dalai Lama's 85th birthday. You can listen to the album's first track, an absolute banger called "Compassion," below.
