Sylo Nozra has returned with another new single. "Spirits" was written and produced by the Toronto artist, frequent collaborator Goldchain and Leo Dessi, and can be heard alongside a video below.
The accompanying visuals from director/editor Martin Klapperbein find Sylo at the controls of an airplane, though his performance leaves him little time to pilot the aircraft. It's a metaphor for how the titular "Spirits" can lead us to move through our own lives on autopilot.
Sylo offers of his latest, "It's about making blurry decisions when you're intoxicated, thinking about the past," recalling how the song's demo first came together while snowed in a cottage, "when there was nothing to do except make music."
"Spirits" follows Sylo Nozra's 2020 singles "Ginny," "Citrus" and "Why R U Back?." All three have arrived ahead of a debut album that is yet to be detailed.
In 2019, Sylo Nozra invited us into his studio for Exclaim!'s Music School feature.
