Ahead of releasing his debut album later this year, Toronto's Sylo Nozra has shared a new song from the effort.
"Ginny," which you can hear below, concerns the vices of alcohol and sex — its name a marriage of the two. As the artist writes in a press release, "the cycles of addiction — from substances to sex — are made up of blurred lines. It's not the specific thing you're using as an escape, it's the urge inside of you. the feeling of fighting something, but sometimes it gets the best of you."
"Ginny" will appear on Sylo Nozra's yet-to-be-detailed debut, expected to arrive this summer. The album "began in a studio with producer Cameron Hale [and] Leo Dessi," and "was finished at a cabin in northern Ontario with Leo [and] Goldchain."
Late last year, Sylo Nozra invited us into his home studio for Exclaim!'s Music School feature.
