Prolific songsmith Jon Lawless is back with another new single as Swim Good, and he's roped in some impressive guests for the new tune called "Since U Asked."
It features Anna Horvath (aka Merival) on vocals, as well as contributions from Joel Karlsson of Air France and Darren Seltmann of the Avalanches. Adding to the list of notable names, Ryan Hemsworth is responsible for putting out the track through his Secret Songs project.
As for the inspiration behind the song, Lawless said in a statement: "You know when someone asks how you're doing and you can't help but give a super honest answer?? This song is about the highs and lows of that."
It bridges the gap between genres, melding together electronic samples, while still giving off the air of honesty often found in folk music and bedroom pop.
"Every time I listen to this song it winds up on repeat, indefinitely," added Hemsworth. "Swim Good walks this line between R&B, folk and indie, maintaining his balance with the most sentimental sounds and samples. It's 2015 Canadian soul winter music that I need playing every season."
