The soundtrack lovers at One Way Static apparently have a taste for cannibal flicks, having previously cooked up deluxe edition releases for Cannibal Ferox and Cannibal Holocaust. The latest addition to the menu is Stelvio Cipriani's score to Joe D'Amato's 1978 sexploitation film, Papaya, Love Goddess of the Cannibals.
Due out in March, the first-ever vinyl and cassette editions of the score will arrive via OWS overseas, while Light in the Attic is taking pre-orders in North America.
Italian composer Cipriani is notable for having delivered scores to spaghetti western's like The Bounty Killer and The Stranger Returns, as well as the award-winning score to The Anonymous Venetian, horror flicks like Twitch of the Death Nerve and Baron Blood, and the timeless, funk-flecked Concorde Affaire 79.
D'Amato's Papaya, Love Goddess of the Cannibals concerns a team of geologists trying to remove a cannibal population from their tropical home. These plans are curbed by Papaya, who apparently stages a series of dangerous seductions. You'll find an outrageously NSFW trailer, featuring Cipriani's music, down below, as well as a sampler features several tracks from the upcoming release.
Limited to 1,000 copies, the vinyl versions will be housed in a gatefold jacket, with colour variants landing on "green/pink split vinyl" and "clear/pink haze vinyl" (500 of each will be pressed). The cassettes, meanwhile, will be limited to 200 copies and feature different cover art and include seven exclusive cuts that aren't being pressed on vinyl.
