Experimental hip-hop group Injury Reserve — who were performing as a duo made up of Nathaniel Ritchie and producer Parker Corey after the passing of Stepa J. Groggs (a.k.a. Jordan Alexander Groggs) in 2020 — have announced that they're retiring their former name and will now perform as By Storm.
Posting to their social media accounts, the duo wrote, "To respect the specificity of all three of us as Injury Reserve, we have decided not to make new music under this name. Nathaniel and Parker have continued working together and plan to release under By Storm as a hand off from our work with Injury Reserve."
They continued, writing: "We will be premiering a double video 'Injury Reserve — By Storm, Bye Storm — Double Trio' alongside a discussion with Harmony Holiday next week on July 15 at 2220 Arts + Archive in Los Angeles." Tickets to that event are available here.
Injury Reserve's most recent, and now last, album was 2021's By the Time I Get to Phoenix.
