Prairie rockers Rah Rah delivered their last full-length album back in 2015 with Vessels, but vocalist/guitarist Marshall Burns from the band is ready to share some new material of his own just in time for the holidays.
"Home Once a Year" is about the weeks surrounding Christmas when everyone seems to return to their usually quiet hometowns, and Burns is quick to assure listeners that the track is an "observational" one, rather than an "antagonistic" one.
Joining him on the seasonally appropriate song are Snake River's Christopher Sleightholm on guitar; Zachary Lucky's bandmate Ian Cameron on pedal steel; Rah Rah's Jeffrey Romanyk on sleigh bells, drums and backing vocals; and fellow Rah Rah bandmate Joel Passmore on bass. Burns himself takes the lead on vocals and acoustic guitar.
The track came out of sessions that should turn into a country-tinged solo record at some point in the near future, but you can enjoy the Christmastime tune — complete with visuals by Piper Burns and Sunny Adams — in the player below right now.
