2 Chainz has delivered the sad news that his beloved French bulldog Trappy S. Goyard — a fixture of the artist's music videos, social media posts and late-night TV appearances — has died.
On Instagram, Chainz wrote of his late furry friend, "Can't believe im even saying this man im crushed like a mf man this my heart right here I have had [Trappy] for 9 years we have traveled and kicked it all over the world and he is no longer here mannn Shit hurt me no cap , feel like a person passed away , I love my dog he was so smart and laid back !! I have so many items and memories of Trappy , can't believe I won't hear you snoring no more."
2 Chainz and Trappy became best buds thanks to the artist's digital series-turned-TV show Most Expensiveist Shit, on which he met a pair of dog breeders behind "the highest quality show bulldogs on the planet," as well as Trappy's father — the blue-coated, exceptionally pricy French bulldog named Micro Machine.
As Chainz recalls in the above video, "Me and your pops really hit it off back in 2015, and only a few months later, you joined my family forever."
Trappy was a star of 2 Chainz visuals like those for 2017's "4 AM," appearing next to his owner and Travis Scott at a house party. Memorably, he swapped bodies with 2 Chainz in the video for 2021's "Grey Area" after following his nose into his owner's stash of psychedelic mushrooms.
Trappy also stole the spotlight from 2 Chainz during a 2017 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, dozing off in the middle of the interview.
