Port Juvee

"The Witching Hour"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 1, 2015

While Calgary's Port Juvee collected a clutch of cuts for last year's Revenge EP, not every track they laid down during the recording sessions made it onto the release. Now, the band have uploaded one of the B-sides, a jittery piece of post-Strokes pop-rock they call "The Witching Hour."

Plentiful are wiry, intertwined guitar melodies, booming baritone croons and a high-voltage drum beat that sounds as if the band's skinsman was downing triple-shot espressos ahead of the studio session. Despite the title, the track is more inviting than it is spooky.

Port Juvee also have a handful of Canadian dates on the horizon. You'll find the show info, along with a stream of "The Witching Hour," down below.
