Perfume Genius has shared a new track called "Pop Song," following up his recent cut "Eye in the Wall."
Also appearing in Mike Hadreas's new immersive dance experience titled The Sun Still Burns Here, "Pop Song" is a musical exploration of how physical form can convey emotion.
"I imagined an ecstatic pile of bodies preparing to be consumed by the gods," Hadreas said of the song in a statement. "A joyous communal sacrifice of the physical to spiritually level up. The lyric is like a conjuration spell to be sung when the mountain of bodies settles in position and is held still as an offering."
The Sun Still Burns Here was created by Hadreas, choreographer Kate Wallich and a dance company called the YC.
It debuted in Seattle earlier this month and will come to New York City from November 13 to 17. The Sun Still Burns will also appear in Minneapolis in December and Boston in January.
