Charlottetown indie pop crew Paper Lions have spent the last couple years honing the follow-up to 2013's My Friends, but before the details of the next record are fully revealed, Exclaim! has got the premiere of the band's brand new lyric video for "Believer."
On the new material, the band hope to maintain the "sunny melodies, indie rock guitar riffs and storytelling" of their previous albums, while pushing their sound in a more blatantly pop direction. The new songs were recording in Brooklyn with Andrew Maury, and while details are still scarce, "Believer" offers up an early glimpse at what Paper Lions have been working on.
The track bubbles with glossy synths and infectious hooks, while the accompanying visuals deliver the lyrics in an exciting assortment of rainbow colours.
Paper Lions will play a hometown show at the PEI Brewing Company on November 7, reintroducing themselves to fans with an action-packed set that promises confetti cannons, balloon drops and custom projections. Get the anticipation building by watching the lyric video for "Believer" below.
