Just yesterday (March 16), Of Monsters and Men shared their new single "Crystals," and we speculated that a new album was likely on the way. Sure enough, the anthemic Icelandic folkies have now detailed their sophomore album. The record is called Beneath the Skin, and it will be out on June 9 through Republic Records/Universal Music.
The band worked on the album over the course of the past year, splitting their time between Iceland and Los Angeles. They worked with co-producer Rich Costey (Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, Frank Turner).
The album consists of 11 tracks, leading off with "Crystals." The iTunes deluxe version boosts the tracklist up to 15 cuts, including two bonus tracks and a pair of remixes. These remixes come courtesy of Grizzly Bear member Chris Taylor and Jónsi & Alex member Alex Somers. The digital album is available to pre-order here.
Check out the deluxe tracklist below and "Crystals" at the bottom of the page.
Also below, see the band's tour dates for the coming months. The North American spring leg includes a Toronto show on May 4, while their summer festival schedule will bring them to British Columbia's Squamish Valley Music Festival in August.
