New York-based, Sudanese-American producer and MC Oddisee made our list of Top 10 Hip-Hop Albums last year with The Good Fight. Not one to rest on his laurels, the man has released a free EP, along with details of his release plans for this year.
A press release explains that the seven-track AlWasta takes its name from "the Arabic colloquial term used to mean (to use colloquial English) 'the plug,' derived from 'wasat,' meaning 'middle' or 'middleman.'" The new release for Mello Music Group can be found below.
In addition to the new freelease, Oddisee has announced plans for a new instrumental album arriving in May, a U.S. and UK tour with his live band Good Company, and a new solo full-length slated to arrive in the fall.
