No Joy Announce 'More Faithful' LP, Share New Track

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 25, 2015

No Joy endured a rather rocky road leading up to 2013's Wait to Pleasure, even scrapping a full album's worth of material. Thankfully, it sounds like things went a little smoother for their latest LP, which is called More Faithful and will be out on June 9 through Arts & Crafts/Mexican Summer.

Tracking took place at Gary's Electric Studio in Brooklyn and at a farmhouse in Costa Rica with producer Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Chairlift). A press release describes the results as "a juxtaposition of unrest and calm, beauty and chaos, truth and fantasy, in the throes of dimed amps and hair-whipping guitar goddess rock music."

This is apparently, at times, the heaviest and most intricate No Joy record, but there are also vulnerable moments and "angelic harmonies" to sweeten the soundscape. For a taste of this, scroll past the tracklist below to hear "Everything New," which begins with echoing tones and later builds up with noise.

Also below, see the band's tour schedule, which includes US and European stops plus six Canadian shows in April.
