M83 captivated listeners with the "Midnight City"-led Hurry Up, We're Dreaming back in 2011, but fans waiting for some fresh material from Anthony Gonzalez's project are in luck — he's completed work on a new M83 album.
Producer J. Meldal-Johnsen confirmed via Twitter this afternoon (December 17) that he contributed to the upcoming release and that work on the album is done. The official M83 website confirms that it will arrive in 2016.
Johnsen also worked with Gonzales on the aforementioned Hurry Up, We're Dreaming. Since that record was released, M83 has released a series of reissues and collaborated with artists like HAIM and Jean-Michel Jarre.
In addition to news of a finished album, M83 has also been confirmed to play a handful of summer festivals, including Delaware's Firefly Festival and a number of overseas events in Europe. Find the full itinerary below, then relive the magic of "Midnight City" beyond that.
